The transmission of mastitis can happen due to the presence of high levels of Staph Aureus bacteria lingering in the liner after milking an infected cow. If not cleaned thoroughly, these bacteria can be transferred to other cows during the milking process, a situation referred to as cross-contamination.
Airstream performs a back-flush of the cluster after each individual cow.
The cluster is thoroughly cleaned using a peracetic acid flush, followed by an injection of compressed air to ensure effective washing and drying. The AirStream Cluster Sanitiser System can be easily installed in any milking parlour without requiring modifications to existing equipment.
Reduce the Spread of Infection
After milking an infected cow, bacteria remaining in the cluster can spread infection to 6–8 other cows. To prevent cross-contamination, three critical areas of the cluster must be cleaned before the unit is applied to the next cow:
- Liner Head
- Claw Piece
- Long Milk Tube
